The only problem I see with that is that WP updates multiple times a year. If you make a plug in then you have to keep it updated. I use Webcards as thank you notes for guests who've stayed at our small inn. On occasion I will have a photo that I've taken of them that I would like to use in the ecard but I don't want the general public to see/use it (e.g. it could be a photo of their child or dog). As a workaround, I set up a category called "Other". I enable it to upload a new image and send the ecard.
