I thought I posted this yesterday, but it got lost in cyberspace somewhere. So here it goes again...

How about seamless textures for backgrounds, rather than just colors? I create my own greating cards, and would like to use the textures from the cards for the backgrounds sometimes. It would be awesome. Thank you.

Catalog numbers for cards. Description is fine, but I have a few cards I am paying commission on for the use of the picture. If I could sort and get stats for a range of Catalog number or special coded catalog numbers that would be helpful to me.

Word Press integration would be nice. The only problem I see with that is that WP updates multiple times a year. If you make a plug in then you have to keep it updated. Maybe a theme would be a better way to go.

be able to use an html file as the card. So for example, the cards would be in their own folders on the server with the appropriate resource files (html, css, javascript etc.) You would then select the index.html of that card as the card source. This would give a lot of flexibility to the card design.
It would also be great to embed the message inside the html via a php call so that card and message are fully integrated.

Could there be an option where a user can send the same card and message to several recipients but at different dates? For example, this would allow users to take care of all their birthday ecards at one time and have them automatically sent out at different times of the year. A convenient feature to offer users.

Also, when someone fills out a card, previews it, then decides not to buy it when payment is asked for, the card nevertheless is listed on the admin page as having been sent with a date and time. Can this be labeled "aborted" or "cancelled" in the "View Cards" section so that we know it hasn't been purchased and sent?

Thank you for a great program!

Regards,
Jerry

To svegliando, the way to do this is to upload a card as a regular user. Cards that are uploaded by users are only visible to the person who uploaded them.

Let me know if you need any more information on this.

I'd like the ability to keep a category from showing but still have the images in that category active. I use Webcards as thank you notes for guests who've stayed at our small inn. On occasion I will have a photo that I've taken of them that I would like to use in the ecard but I don't want the general public to see/use it (e.g. it could be a photo of their child or dog). As a workaround, I set up a category called "Other". I enable it to upload a new image and send the ecard. However, after it's sent, I then disable that category and the recipient can still view the ecard.

Here are a couple more.
One of my users requested the ability to set peoples birthdays on the calendar and to get reminders.

I would like some way of giving away promotional gifts. something like a bunch of individual codes that I could print and give out that allowed users to send a certain number of free cards, get an extension to their membership or even a limited trial membership.

Hi Chris
Aside from annual membership and Wordpress integration (I think you would do very well indeed with a WP plugin) which you seem to have well in hand. It would be great to have some kind of stats in the admin area where we could see which cards were most popular, looked at most often - how many times looked at and sent. That sort of stuff. Being the kind of visual guy I am displaying this info as graphs would be better for me:-)

I would very much like more control over how the announcement emails look so they can fit in with the look and feel of the site.

Slightly off topic I would love it if this forum could email me when new posts turn up so I don't miss things like this.

Huge Regards
Dave

Thanks for the feedback. You can get rid of the card cost in the templates. It's a setting in the "layout" section of the admin centre.

It's also a long term target to be able to create more templates for release, but's it hard to justify spending time on this when there is still work to do on the core WebCards functions.

There will also be an option for monthly or yearly subscriptions.

The collapsible categories is something I really want but I am finding it hard to make it work properly. It is easy to use javascript to make a collapsible list. However, the problem comes when you are viewing one of the sub categories. You need to automatically expand some of the branches of the tree and this is what's causing the difficulty. It is still something I am determined to do, however.

6.) Ability to 'bulk' upload email addresses in a CSV format ( like username, password, firstname, lastname, email address ).

My customer already has a list of users he'd like to add ( 100s of them ) and would be nice to be able to do so NOT manually.

This would be within the 'Manage Users' section ( in my opinion ).

Thanks !

Ignore Item #1 above.

5.) The ability to have a 'yearly' suscription, just like for the monthly but it would be good for 12 months.

Yes :

1.)

Is there a way to charge PER ECARD ?

We'd like to keep the subscription scenario, but we'd also like to allow the user to purchase one ecard in one transaction.

2.)

How do you manage the '(free)' that appears underneath each ecard ?

3.)

More layout template selections.

4.)

Within a 'category,' have the 'subcategories' be 'collapsable' ; Like many sites, for example let's say I click on the category 'cars' ( may be a 'plus +' sign to indicate subcategories below the main category ), it might then open the list of subcategories which would include all your favorite automobile ecards like Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, etc. ( spelling may be off but you get the point ) .

I'll add more later ; thanks for the request !
