    Hello guys,
I've a quick question about the card sending. Is it possible to send the content of the card rather than :

    You Have Received a WebCard!

    Dear John Doe,
John Doe (john.doe@gmail.com) has sent you a WebCard.
To pick it up just point your Browser to the following address:

Don't forget to send John Doe a card back while you are there.

I'm sure this question was already asked but I didn't find it in the threads.

    Thanx !

This is actually a topic that comes up quite often, so it might be a more popular feature than I realised.

The idea of software like WebCards is that it engages your visitors and encourages them to come to your website and send cards. You are hoping that while they are there they will take time to discover the rest of your site. Maybe they will join your mailing list, subscribe to your RSS feed or just read some of the stuff on your website.

WebCards is a tool that is designed to encourage this. Sending the card contents to somebody's inbox won't cause them to visit your site.

If the feature is really that popular I will certainly consider introducing it if that's what people want.

    Hi Chris...

I'm one of those who requested this feature. I understand that the point of the software is to generate traffic to our website, but with all the scares about viruses from webcards, people are reluctant to retrieve them anyway, so many times, my clients give up sending.

If the recepient would receive the cards on opening their email, like they would any other picture, more people would get to see the card. I for one would want to know where the card came from and how to send one. After all, no other webcard program out there is doing this.

In the end, I think it would be a positive feature, specially if we can include a message about giving them the oportunity to send a free card themselves for visiting our website.

Granny, I agree. And yes, there is at least one script that does it, and looks like it does it pretty well:

    http://systems1001.com/ecard.html

Direct send of content, and it worked to test accounts at yahoo.com, comcast.net, 1and1.com (just about the fussiest, worst, HTML-formatted-content-averse service provider you can imagine). Bingo, each one opened with the picture there.

At systems1001, use "Demo 1". "Demo 2" and "Demo 3" send the URL.

WebCards has much better admin capabilities, banning controls, just a slick user experience. If they had 'direct send', I'd buy it now.

I also like this idea. People are very wary about what links they will click on in email. Am I able to change the word WebCard to Greeting Card when people receive their emails?
    Thanks,
    Harriet

Sending the full card content is in the works.

To rename WebCards log into your admin centre and click Layout Options. It will be the top option.

Just wanted to update this topic. Sending full card content is now available in WebCards 2.5.
